Australian High Street Fashion – is it ethical?

It's an uncomfortable thought, one that we normally push to the back of our minds as we search out bargains in the High Street. T.V. and glossy magazines advertise these unbelievable “bargains”, making it easier for us to ignore the problem – making us focus on how great we’ll look, and not on how the “bargain” made its journey to meet us. This session examines some of the issues that have been reported, and in some cases legislated against, in Europe since the mid-90’s.  Many of these issues have gone unaddressed by the Australian Fashion Industry and Government. So what is the Australian Fashion Industry doing about these concerns?  And what can be done now to give Australian consumers more confidence in our Fashion Industry going forward?
