The curated interior challenges our perception of the value of design. Commenting on the throwaway mentality of modern day culture, it pronounces the loss of our appreciation for objects we consume and demonstrate the value of design and its role in delivering products that have greater longevity and better effectiveness in their use of materials and energy.
The focal interior elements curated by Before and After have been produced by a select group of designers from diverse creative industries, following a brief to transform discarded objects into functional and desirable interior products. As an extension of the sustainability of the production itself, these limited edition pieces will be sold off during the week with a major share of proceeds going to the Brotherhood of St Lawrence.
Unique collections of innovative, sustainable products from independent designers around Australia are also available to view and purchase.
A series of not-to-be missed hosted lunches; dinners, seminars and events are being served up throughout the week. Feeding both mind and belly/appetite, the hospitality focuses on sustainable consumption, slow and organic foods and locally sourced produce.
